These fierce battles of honor captivated the attention of many, showcasing the customs surrounding dueling in that era. In 1815, duels had become deeply ingrained in society's fabric. From aristocrats to commoners, individuals sought resolution through this age-old practice. One such duel involving Saint-Beuve left an indelible mark on history.
