Venturing further into this architectural masterpiece, one finds themselves standing in the southwest transept. This particular area offers a unique perspective on Ely Cathedral's intricate design and craftsmanship. The antique map of Cambridgeshire serves as a reminder of the rich history that surrounds this place. Dating back to 1924-1926, artist FC Varley immortalized Ely Cathedral on canvas with his remarkable talent. His artwork captures not only the physicality but also the essence of this iconic landmark.
