ST THOMAS HOSPITAL, LAMBETH PALACE ROAD, LAMBETH, GREATER LONDON. The actor John Wayne meeting staff working at the St Thomas Hospital construction site.
This photograph was taken during the filming of Brannigan, directed by Richard Attenborough. Shots were filmed at St Thomas Hospital and John Wayne along with his co-star, Judy Geeson, and the director were getting to know the site. The photograph was also published in September 1974 in the Laing monthly newsletter Team Spirit. It shows various members of staff who worked on the Laing building contract at the hospital and John Wayne is seen shaking the hand of the projects manager, D Upton
