The talented Major Arthur William Gill, a Cornishman and amateur photographer, was widely recognized during the 1920s and 1930s for his remarkable presentations of stills and cine film. His works were showcased to various esteemed groups such as The Royal Institution of Cornwall, Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society, and the London Cornish Society.
