The Colossi of Memnon, located on the West Bank of Luxor in Egypt, are a remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Site. These ancient statues stand tall as a testament to the rich history and grandeur of Thebes, an important city in North Africa. Captured beautifully by Maxime du Camp in 1849/51 and printed in 1852, his photographs titled "Gournah, Les Colosses" and "Gournah, Sculptures du Trone des Colosses" showcase the magnificence of these monolithic figures.
