The HSCC Griffiths Haig Trophy race was a thrilling display of vintage racing prowess, as drivers from various eras battled it out on the track. Among them, CJ11 0745 John Chisholm showcased his skills behind the wheel of a Lola Mk1, maneuvering through corners with precision and finesse. Not far behind him was CJ11 0148 James Owen in his Elva Mk5, pushing the limits of speed and control. The roar of engines filled the air as CJ11 0715 David Cottingham unleashed the power of his Ferrari 500, leaving spectators in awe. Meanwhile, CJ11 0750 Steve Wright exhibited masterful handling in his Porsche 356A, effortlessly gliding past competitors. It was a fierce competition between these seasoned racers and their iconic machines. But it wasn't just about speed; strategy played a crucial role too. CJ11 0766 Tim Reid strategically piloted his Lola Mk1 to gain an advantage over rivals. And not to be outdone, CJ11 0153 Tim Llewellyn showcased exceptional driving skills in his Allard J2. Speaking of which, it seemed that Tim Llewellyn had quite the affinity for Allard J2s since he also took part in another race with CJ11 0708. His dedication to this classic car model was truly remarkable. Adding diversity to the mix was Stuart Dean with his MG Dick Jacobs Special (CJ11 0151), proving that even lesser-known models could hold their own on the track. Meanwhile, Jamie Mason's Lotus Seven (CJ11 0719) added an element of agility and nimbleness to this exhilarating event. Throughout the race day, there were moments that left everyone holding their breath – like when Tim Reid (CJ11 0139) skillfully maneuvered through tight turns or when Steve Wright (CJ11 0145) showcased the raw power of his Porsche 356A.
