The image provides a glimpse into the mid-1950s to 1962, when construction was underway. The roof work is clearly visible, highlighting the intricate craftsmanship involved in creating such an architectural marvel. This photograph serves as a testament to that momentous occasion and offers insight into how far along construction had progressed at that time. Catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20 by Historic England Archive, this image holds immense historical value.
