Great aerial photograph of King Power Stadium, the iconic home of Leicester City Football Club, as it looked in September 2012. Located in the heart of Leicester, England, this modern football stadium was originally named Walkers Stadium when it was built in 2002, after the sponsor, snack food company Walkers. However, in 2013, the stadium underwent a significant transformation and was renamed King Power Stadium, after the Thai-based international duty-free retailer, King Power International Group, who became the new main sponsor. This stunning image captures the unique architectural design of the stadium, with its distinctive blue seats and white roof, creating a striking contrast against the lush green pitch. The surrounding area, including the car parks and nearby buildings, are also visible, providing a sense of scale and context. King Power Stadium has been the scene of many memorable moments in Leicester City's history. In particular, the 2015-2016 season will always be remembered as one of the most remarkable in English football history. Against all odds, the unfancied Foxes defied the pundits and won the English Premiership title for the first time, breaking the record for the smallest budget in the league and shocking the football world. This photograph, taken by Damian Grady from Historic England, is a beautiful recreation of a significant moment in Leicester City's history, showcasing the stadium's unique charm and character. Whether you're a football fan or simply appreciate the beauty of modern architecture, this image is sure to inspire awe and admiration.
