"This evocative photograph captures the essence of classic motor racing at its finest, as John Pearson (left) and Noel Leonard (right) prepare to take to the iconic Brands Hatch Circuit in their beautifully preserved pre-1966 MGs, during the thirty minute one driver Equipe Libre race on Sunday 24th March 2024. Located in Longfield, Kent, DA3 8NG, England, Brands Hatch is one of the most revered circuits in the world of motorsport, and this event, organised by Equipe Classic Racing, attracted a bumper crowd of enthusiasts eager to witness the sights and sounds of these classic GT, saloon, and sports cars in action. Both Pearson and Leonard's MGs, a MG A and MG B Roadster respectively, were shod with Dunlop historic CR65 L section tyres, adding an extra layer of nostalgia to the occasion. The closed wheel, competition-specification vehicles were a sight to behold as they roared around the Indy circuit, evoking memories of a bygone era of motor racing. The Equipe Libre race was a popular addition to the MSV-run event, providing a platform for these iconic cars to compete under FIA Appendix K regulations.
