Michael Caine, Railton Straight 8 Special, First run in 1952 the Pomeroy Trophy features cars from all era's and types, it's the Vintage Sports Car Club, VSCC, first track event of their season. Pomeroy Trophy, a set of four auto-tests followed by forty minutes of racing on the full Grand Prix circuit, There are three trophies awarded at the event; Pomeroy Trophy, Densham Trophy, Pomeroy Edwardian Trophy, Voiturette Trophy and the the Gordon Spice Cup. It runs on the full Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone, Towcester, Northamptonshire, England, 17th February 2024

"Amidst the drizzle and dull weather of Towcester, Northamptonshire, England, on the historic grounds of Silverstone Circuit, the Vintage Sports Car Club (VSCC) kicked off their 2024 season with the much-anticipated Pomeroy Trophy event. This thrilling competition, first held in 1952, showcased an array of cars from various eras and types. The Pomeroy Trophy itself was just one of several awards presented that day, with the Densham Trophy, Pomeroy Edwardian Trophy, Voiturette Trophy, and Gordon Spice Cup also up for grabs. The excitement was palpable as competitors prepared for the set of four auto-tests, followed by a hearty forty minutes of racing on the full Grand Prix circuit. Amongst the iconic and nostalgic machines was the Railton Straight 8 Special, driven by none other than the legendary Michael Caine. This pre-war saloon car, with its powerful engine and sleek design, was a sight to behold as it navigated the winding turns and straightaways of the circuit. The Pomeroy Trophy, with its rich history and prestigious reputation, drew motor sport enthusiasts from far and wide.
