. In this print by Chris McEvoy, we are transported back in time to witness a momentous event at the Goodwood Revival in September 2022. Amidst the picturesque setting of Goodwood Motor Circuit in Chichester, West Sussex, England, stands an iconic British classic - the Austin 7 PH 8363. Originally introduced in July 1922 as an affordable family car, the Austin 7 quickly became a symbol of innovation and engineering prowess. Its official horsepower designation of '7' allowed it to fall into a lower tax category during that era's Horsepower tax method. However, beneath its unassuming exterior lay a remarkable powertrain capable of producing nearly double its designated horsepower. With its four-cylinder engine boasting an impressive displacement of 747cc (45.6 cu in), this automotive gem was pushing boundaries with around 10.5hp - a testament to clever engineering and technological advancements within just a few years. As we admire this historic vehicle amidst the thrilling atmosphere of circuit racing and motor sport entertainment, we cannot help but feel nostalgic for an era defined by these magnificent automobiles. This photograph encapsulates not only the beauty and heritage associated with classic cars but also pays homage to their enduring legacy on our roads today.
