EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the iconic Singapore Merlion statue, situated proudly in front of the luxurious Fullerton Hotel and the bustling financial district. The Merlion is undoubtedly one of Singapore's most famous tourist attractions, symbolizing the city-state's rich history and vibrant culture. Originally located at Merlion Park, this magnificent statue was relocated to its current position in April 2002 to grace Marina Bay with its majestic presence. Standing tall at an impressive height of 8.6 meters and weighing a staggering 70 tonnes, it truly commands attention from all who lay eyes upon it. Designed by Fraser Brunner for the Singapore Tourism Board in 1964, the Merlion served as their logo until 1997 when it became synonymous with Singapore itself. Its distinctive half-lion, half-fish form represents both strength and prosperity, embodying the spirit of this dynamic Southeast Asian nation. The photo captures not only the grandeur of the statue but also offers a glimpse into the modernity that surrounds it. With skyscrapers dominating the backdrop and Marina Bay sparkling under a clear blue sky, this image encapsulates Singapore's blend of tradition and progress. Bruce Adams has masterfully captured this enchanting scene through his lens, allowing viewers to appreciate both the architectural beauty surrounding Fullerton Hotel and Financial District while marveling at one of Singapore's most treasured landmarks - The Merlion.
