This print showcases a courtier to Francis I (1494-1547), beautifully depicted by the talented artist Edmond Lechevallier-Chevignard. Dressed in an exquisite ensemble, the courtier wears a short silk jacket over a slashed doublet, complemented by stockings and a plumed hat that adds an air of elegance to his appearance. Adorned with a sword and carrying a hunting horn, he exudes both sophistication and strength. Handcolored with meticulous attention to detail, this illustration is truly a work of art. Lithographed by A. Didier, L. Flameng, and F. Laguillermie from Georges Duplessis' renowned book "Costumes historiques des XVIe, XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles" (Historical costumes of the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries), published in Paris in 1867.
