EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases a Glengarry badge dating back to the late 19th century. Crafted from exquisite white metal, this intricate piece is on display at the National Army Museum in London. The badge features a beautifully designed thistle wreath as its base, with a scroll bearing the motto "Nisi Dominus Frustra" (Without God, All is in Vain) delicately placed above it. A circlet proudly displays the title "King's Own Scottish Borderers" while a saltire - Scotland's national flag - adorns the center of the wreath. The upper arms of this iconic symbol bear another scroll with the pierced motto "In Veritate Religionis Confido" (In Truth I Trust). Atop all these elements stands an impressive representation of Edinburgh Castle perched upon a rock, symbolizing strength and heritage. Completing this regal ensemble is none other than the Royal Crest positioned above everything else. The reverse side reveals a hinged white metal loop for attachment purposes, adding practicality to its ornate design. Part of an esteemed collection associated with King's Own Scottish Borderers spanning over 100 years, this Glengarry badge represents both history and pride. Its timeless beauty serves as a reminder of valorous soldiers who served under its banner from 1887 until 2006. With Bridgeman Images capturing every detail flawlessly, viewers can appreciate not only its historical significance but also marvel at the craftsmanship that went into creating such an extraordinary artifact.
