2627048 The Artists Studio, La Vielle Chapelle, La Boissiere, Chateauden, c.1909 (oil on canvas) by Belleroche, Albert de (1864-1944); 76.2x61 cm; Private Collection; (add.info.: La Boissiere was an inn near Chateaudun where Belleroche stayed when he painted in the countryside. Here he rented La Vielle Chapelle which was spacious enough to house the huge press, (Imprimerie Le Mercier), from which he hand printed his lithographs. This painting provides a rare record in colour of his studio as it appeared circa 1910, the walls decorated with paintings by Belleroche and his friends - clearly identifiable is the Toulouse-Lautrec poster of La Revue Blanche (top right).
The model, in full mourning dress, is likely to be Julie Emilie Visseaux, the daughter of Belleroches sculptor friend Jules Edouard Visseaux, whom he married in 1910.); eLiss Fine Art; English, out of copyright

The Artist's Studio - A Glimpse into Belleroche's Creative Haven
EDITORS COMMENTS
. This print captures the essence of Albert de Belleroche's artistic sanctuary, "The Artist's Studio, La Vielle Chapelle, La Boissiere, Chateauden". Painted around 1909 on canvas with oil, this masterpiece measures 76.2x61 cm and is currently held in a private collection. Belleroche found solace and inspiration at La Boissiere, an inn near Chateaudun where he often retreated to paint amidst the tranquil countryside. Renting La Vielle Chapelle provided him with ample space for his extensive lithograph printing press from Imprimerie Le Mercier. This painting offers a rare glimpse into his studio as it appeared circa 1910, adorned with paintings by both Belleroche himself and his artist friends. Notably featured in the artwork is a Toulouse-Lautrec poster of "La Revue Blanche" positioned prominently in the top right corner. The model depicted in full mourning attire is believed to be Julie Emilie Visseaux, daughter of Jules Edouard Visseaux - a sculptor friend whom Belleroche married in 1910. With its vaulted ceilings and exquisite artworks adorning every wall, this photograph immortalizes the intimate world within Belleroche's creative haven. It serves as a testament to his dedication to artistry and provides us with an invaluable glimpse into the life of one of history's most talented painters.
