The rectangular form of the ceiling consists of two square panels joined at the center and backed on pine boards. The intricate design features elaborately interlaced strips forming stellar panels, with raised elements filling the interstices. Each rib is adorned with a central red band, while the panels themselves display either red floral motifs on a black ground or black outlined designs on an uncolored ground. A closer examination reveals that some of the raised panels are painted on their reverse side in deep blue with Arabic inscriptions and occasional Gothic letters. Although there are damages to the paint and slight losses of wood over time, its solid wooden frame has preserved this remarkable piece remarkably well.
