EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases a stunning collection of Egyptian amulets, beads, and pendants. The intricate craftsmanship and exquisite materials used in these ancient artifacts are truly remarkable. Starting from the top left, we see a carnelian leg and hand adorned with a gold Heh (eternity) sign dating back to the Old Kingdom period (c. 2700-2200 BC). These symbols were believed to bring protection and good fortune to their wearers. Moving on, there is a red jasper heart along with Bes figures made of faience. Bes was an important deity associated with protection and fertility in ancient Egypt. Next to them sits a seated child crafted from carnelian, followed by a faience wedjet eye symbolizing healing and restoration. All these pieces belong to the New Kingdom era (c. 1555-1080 BC). Further down the display, we encounter various items from different periods such as a silver ankh pendant belonging to the Nubian C group, haematite headrests for peaceful sleep, obsidian scarabs representing rebirth and transformation, double plumes made of glass denoting power and authority. Lastly, we have figures of Duamutef and Qebehsenuef alongside a djed pillar - all intricately crafted using faience during the Late Period (c. 664-332 BC). This photograph offers us an enchanting glimpse into Egypt's rich history while highlighting its mastery in jewelry-making techniques using precious stones
