Little Red Riding Hood, a serie created by Pellerin printer, 1860 (Epinal print)

5669773 Little Red Riding Hood, a serie created by Pellerin printer, 1860 (Epinal print); (add.info.: Jean-Charles Pellerin (1756-1836), French draftsman, illustrator and printer. He is famous for the images he composed since the Revolution and which he printed himself from 1800. Succeeding his father, he took in 1773 the direction of the "Factory of Pellerin" 3. From 1796, he expanded his activity and created the "Imagerie Pellerin". As early as 1800, he started a small business, a real imaginary industry, which later became known as Epinal print. Charles Nicolas Pellerin (1827-1887), his grandson, launched the collection of "constructions": cardboard models to cut and assemble - an aspect of the production of the little-known Epinal print.); Universal History Archive/UIG
