In the year 1226, amidst a backdrop of historical events and influential figures, a tale unfolds. Francis, a humble and compassionate man known for his devotion to the poor, emerges as a central character. Blanche De Castille, an influential queen with her own ambitions and power struggles, weaves in and out of this narrative. During this time period in the 13th century, military dress was prominent as kingdoms clashed in their pursuit of dominance, and is within this context that the death of Aragonese knight Pedro Ahones leaves behind a legacy shrouded in mystery. GARNELO ALDA captures another significant event - The Death of Saint Francis. This pivotal moment marks the passing of an icon whose teachings continue to inspire generations even today. Meanwhile, Francis Assisi's impact on society cannot be understated. His selfless acts resonate through time like ripples on water. Hurtrel's portrayal showcases his unwavering dedication to serving others. Pope Honorius III plays his part by approving the Carmelite Rule depicted by Lorenzetti's artistry.
