"146 cm: Exploring Artistic Expressions and Historical Significance" Delve into the world of art and history with a diverse collection of works, all measuring 146 cm. From engravings to woodcuts, etchings to platinum prints, these pieces offer glimpses into different periods and cultures. One such artwork is the "Christ Crowned Thorns Passion, " an engraving in its fifth state. This powerful depiction showcases the suffering endured by Christ during his crucifixion. Similarly, the "Massacre Innocents" woodcut from 1511 (first state) portrays a tragic event with haunting detail. In contrast, the "Cobbler copy" etching (n. d. ) measures 6 3/4 x 5 inches (17. 1 x 14. 6 cm). This smaller piece captures everyday life as it depicts a cobbler engrossed in his work amidst strapwork and grotesque figures. Traveling back to the 17th century, an engraving titled "Rock Middle River" reveals nature's beauty in its second state. The serene scene transports viewers to a tranquil riverside setting. Moving forward in time, we encounter an etching called "Romulus Remus" from 1652 (Sheet size: 4 5/16 inches). This print narrates the legendary tale of Rome's founding through intricate details on a compact scale. The woodcut known as "Dream Judgment Paris" (Sheet size:7-9/16 inches) takes us back to early sixteenth-century France with its dreamlike imagery and symbolic storytelling. Transitioning from land to waterways, another engraving presents two boats on a river in its third state across four sheets. This multi-part artwork invites contemplation about journeys both literal and metaphorical.
