In the years 1857 and 1859, the world was in a state of upheaval. The Indian Rebellion of 1857, also known as the Sepoy Mutiny, shook British rule in India to its core. Meanwhile, tensions were rising in the United States over the issue of slavery, leading to events that would ultimately culminate in the Civil War. These two years marked a turning point in history, where old systems were challenged and new ideas began to take root. It was a time of revolution and change, where societies grappled with issues of power, freedom, and justice. As we look back on these tumultuous years, we are reminded of the importance of standing up for what is right and fighting against oppression wherever it may be found.
