"Thrilling Rides and Fierce Competition: The 1970 750cc Sidecar TT" The year was 1970, and the Isle of Man was buzzing with excitement as the legendary Sidecar TT race approached. Amongst the contenders were some of the most skilled riders in the world, ready to push their machines to their limits. Joe Coxon and S Galligan on their powerful Rumble BSA sidecar were determined to make a mark. Their fierce rivals, David North and David Bickley riding a Greenwood Triumph, were equally prepared for an intense battle on the challenging circuit. Not far behind them were Dick Maplethorpe and J Coaten astride a roaring Triumph, eager to prove themselves against their formidable opponents. Brian Mee and Colin Newbold on a lightning-fast BSA also joined this thrilling race. Dave Dickinson and Stan Cooper took control of a sleek BMW machine, while John Barker and Chris Emmins rode confidently on their Reynoldson Triumph outfit. Mick Whitton and Nick Haslam showcased their skills aboard another Rumble BSA entry. Roy Woodhouse and Doug Woodhouse represented Honda with finesse, while Idris Evans partnered with J Mathuson on an Imp special that promised surprises. George Bye teamed up with D Lodge for an exhilarating ride on an ETY Triumph sidecar combination. Bran Bardsley alongside Peter Cropper maneuvered skillfully through every twist and turn atop their trusty Triumph steed. Lastly, Dick Hawes piloted his RGM Seeley sidecar expertly alongside John Mann. As they roared down Bray Hill towards Ballacraine Corner at breakneck speeds, these fearless competitors left spectators breathless with anticipation. Each rider displayed exceptional talent as they navigated treacherous bends like Quarter Bridge or Glen Helen flawlessly. Throughout the grueling race distance of over 37 miles per lap around the iconic Mountain Course's challenging terrain, the riders showcased their unwavering determination and skill.
