"Remembering the Historic 4th of August: A Day of Battles, Naval Maneuvers, and Distinguished Visitors" On this day in history, the Battle of Alcacer Quibir, also known as the Battle of Three Kings or Battle of Oued al-Makhazin, took place. It was a significant clash that left an indelible mark on the annals of warfare. Meanwhile, across the seas, a royal yacht sailed with none other than the German Emperor on board. The vessel visited ships from the British Fleet on this memorable Sunday - August 4th. An engraving immortalizes this momentous occasion. In another corner of maritime activity, Cowes witnessed a distinguished visitor to its Royal Yacht Squadron.
