The 4th Dynasty of ancient Egypt, spanning from approximately 2613 to 2494 BCE, was a remarkable period marked by the construction of some of the most iconic structures in history. The Great Pyramid of Cheops, located in Giza, stands as a testament to the architectural genius and engineering prowess of this era. Captured in various photographs throughout time, its grandeur never fails to captivate. In one image taken around 1970, we see a breathtaking view of the Great Pyramid with a model funerary boat placed gracefully in the foreground. This photograph offers us a glimpse into the burial practices and beliefs that were prevalent during this dynasty. Another striking black and white photo from 1858 showcases both The Sphinx and The Great Pyramid together. These two monumental structures have stood side by side for centuries, evoking awe and wonder among all who lay eyes upon them. At nightfall, an enchanting sight unfolds as darkness envelops Gizeh. A photograph captures the majestic Pyramid of Khafre illuminated against the night sky while The Great Sphinx guards it faithfully, and is during these moments that one can truly appreciate their timeless beauty. Artifacts from this era also provide valuable insights into daily life at that time. A stela depicting Thenti and Nefert gives us a glimpse into their existence during mid-Dynasty 4 (around 2566-2532 BCE). Meanwhile, an unknown creator crafted an exquisite vessel dating back to Dynasty 4-6 (about 2613-2181 BCE), showcasing their mastery over pottery-making techniques. Maxime du Camp's print from 1849/51 takes us on a journey through time as we gaze upon the Pyramide de Chephren rising majestically against Egypt's landscape. Its imposing presence serves as a reminder of Pharaoh Khafre's reign during Dynasty IV. Speaking of Pharaoh Khafre himself, an awe-inspiring statue captures his regal essence.
