Alfonso XIII, the King of Spain from 1886 to 1931, led a tumultuous and eventful life. His reign was marked by both grand celebrations and tragic incidents that shaped the course of Spanish history. In 1911, Alfonso XIII's love for sailing was evident as he watched three magnificent yachts - Ostaria, Hispania, and Sophie Elizabeth - race against each other upwind. The thrill of the competition mirrored his adventurous spirit. However, not all moments in Alfonso XIII's life were filled with joy. An anarchist bomb attack on his wedding procession with Queen Victoria Eugenie of Battenberg in Madrid left a lasting impact on their lives.
