Amenhotep III, the powerful pharaoh of Egypt during the New Kingdom, Dynasty 18. His reign was marked by grandeur and prosperity, as evidenced by the magnificent columns in Luxor that still stand tall today. These stoic columns, created by an unknown artist in 1928, serve as a testament to his enduring legacy. The Eye of Horus (Wedjat) Amulet from Amenhotep III's era is another fascinating artifact that showcases his reverence for Egyptian mythology and belief in divine protection. This amulet, dating back to the Late New Kingdom-Third Intermediate Period, symbolizes healing and restoration. One cannot overlook the Nebmaatre is the Lord (Amenhotep III) ring from Egypt's New Kingdom. This exquisite piece reflects his royal status and authority over Thebes during his rule. Scarabs were popular symbols during this time period, often used as seals or amulets. One such scarab depicts Amenhotep III alongside Queen Tiye – a clear representation of their strong partnership and shared power. Another scarab displays a cartouche with a standing king inside it – an emblematic representation himself. It serves as a reminder of his sovereignty and influence throughout Dynasty 18. Plaques also played an important role in ancient Egyptian artistry. One plaque portrays Amun Re, God of Praise, along with Amunhotep Ruler of Thebes – showcasing both religious devotion and political prowess. Intriguingly enough, there is also a plaque featuring fifteen scarabs associated with Amunhotep from the Middle Kingdom era – emphasizing how even after centuries had passed since his reign ended; he continued to be revered by subsequent generations. Lastly, we have the Cowroid: The Kings Wife Tiye - yet another remarkable artifact from Amenhotep III's time on earth. This cowroid highlights Queen Tiye's significant role and her close connection to the pharaoh.
