"Amygdaloideae: A Fascinating World of Insects and Fruity Delights" In the lush landscapes of Surinam, a hidden world unfolds as Amygdaloideae, a subfamily of flowering plants, captivates with its diverse insect inhabitants. Among them are enchanting creatures like the plum-headed parakeet (Psittacula cyanocephala), whose vibrant colors grace the skies. As we delve deeper into this captivating realm, we encounter Prunus sp. Peach varieties such as Grimwoods Royal George or Grosse Mignon, their succulent flesh tempting our taste buds. Nearby stands the sour cherry tree (Prunus cerasus), offering tangy delights for those seeking a different flavor experience. Amidst this fruity paradise lies Prunus persica, known simply as peach - an epitome of sweetness and juiciness that satisfies even the most discerning palates. Its cousin, Prunus sp. Plum, adds another layer to this symphony of flavors. Among these delectable fruits is the breast of Venus peach (Prunus sp. ), adorned with delicate hues reminiscent of royalty's robes. And not far away lies another treasure trove - peaches and plums mingling harmoniously on branches laden with nature's bounty. Bird cherry (Prunus padus L. XXV 95) graces us with its presence too; its blossoms attracting birds while providing nourishment for wildlife in Surinam's rich ecosystem. Meanwhile, large common whiteheart cherries from Prunus sp. , stand tall like pillars guarding their precious fruit within. One cannot overlook The Imperatrice Plum from Prunus sp. , exuding elegance through its deep purple skin and luscious flesh – truly fit for royalty. Completing this delightful ensemble are early purple peaches (Prunus sp. ) alongside large peaches that beckon with their sheer size and juiciness.
