The album compiled by Cesare Lombroso (1835-1909), an Italian criminologist, offers a captivating collection of photographs. Among them is Henri Auvin, a 37-year-old chaudronnier born in St-Meme (Charente-Inferieure). These images serve as visual records that shed light on the physical attributes and appearances prevalent during that era. Additionally, we find intriguing facts such as the photograph depicting a dismembered corpse handled by Alphonse Bertillon (1853-1914), a renowned French scientist credited with creating anthropometry.
