August 2, 1959: The Avus Motor Racing Track in Berlin, Germany, played host to the sixth round of the German Grand Prix and the German Formula Three Championship. The historic course, known for its high speeds and long straights, saw Hans von Stuck break the World Hour Record with an impressive display of driving. The Auto-Union team made pit stops to fuel up, while their competitors pushed for the lead. The Auto Union cars roared around the track during speed trials, setting new benchmarks. The start of the race saw intense competition, with Hermann Lang eventually taking the checkered flag in his Mercedes-Benz.
