Waiting in Trenches WWI: Amidst the deafening sounds of artillery fire, soldiers anxiously awaited their orders while finding solace behind trenches fortified by an impenetrable barrage. Proposal for a Thames Barrage, Gravesend 1904: A visionary plan emerged to harness the power of tides through a proposed Thames Barrage in Gravesend – an engineering marvel that would revolutionize transportation and energy generation. Barrage Balloon: Floating high above war-torn landscapes, these colossal balloons served as guardians against aerial assaults, deterring enemy planes with their menacing presence.
