"Exploring the Rich History and Vibrant Culture of Belgians" From ancient battles to modern-day triumphs, they have left an indelible mark on history. Dating back to the Gallic Wars in 58 BC, their fierce spirit was evident in legendary clashes like the Battle of Sambre and the Battle of Aisne. Fast forward to 15th-century Tournai, where even the Bishop couldn't resist receiving his tithe of beer – a testament to Belgium's love affair with this iconic beverage. In 1906, a punchy cartoon captured Belgian humor as it depicted their adventures in Congo, showcasing their adventurous nature and colonial aspirations. However, tragedy struck during World War I when Ypres Tower witnessed a derailed train in 1914 – a somber reminder of the sacrifices made by brave Belgians during this tumultuous period.
