Hector Berlioz, the fiery French composer and conductor, left an indelible mark on classical music. Born in La Côte-Saint-André, France in 1803, Berlioz's life was marked by passion and creativity. The Symphonie Fantastique (1830) is considered one of the most important works of French Romantic music, while his Requiem Mass in D minor (1848-1855) showcased his mastery of choral writing.
