Bill Copson is a legendary figure in the world of sidecar racing, leaving an indelible mark on the sport throughout his career. In 1965, alongside Harvey Sunderland from BSA, he made a dramatic exit from Parliament Square during the Sidecar TT. The crowd was left in awe as they showcased their exceptional skills and speed. Fast forward to 1988, and Copson teamed up with Rodney Appleton from Baker Yamaha for another thrilling Sidecar TT race. Their partnership proved to be formidable as they navigated through challenging terrains with precision and determination. The following year, Copson joined forces with Greg Mahon riding Windle Kawasaki at the Sidecar TT. Together, they demonstrated incredible teamwork and resilience that earned them admiration from fans around the world. In 1972, it was Gary Townley on BMW who accompanied Copson for the 500 Sidecar TT. Their performance was nothing short of spectacular as they pushed boundaries and conquered every obstacle that came their way. Copson's talent extended beyond partnerships too. Alongside Cliff Munson and R Ashenden on Triumph motorcycles, he showcased his versatility and adaptability in different racing scenarios. 1993 marked another memorable year for Bill Copson when he paired up with Rick Roberts riding Ireson Honda at the Sidecar TT once again. Their chemistry on track was undeniable as they weaved through tight corners effortlessly. Cyril Burgess joined forces with Copson in 1989 aboard Ireson motorcycles for yet another exhilarating Sidecar TT race. The duo displayed impeccable synchronization while maintaining high speeds throughout the competition. Backtracking to 1968, Francis Higginbottom became Copson's partner on a BMW motorcycle for the 500 Sidecar TT event. They left spectators awestruck by their sheer determination and unwavering focus towards victory. Throughout his illustrious career spanning decades, Bill Copson consistently delivered breathtaking performances that etched his name in the annals of sidecar racing history.
