Bob Kewley, a legendary figure in the world of motorcycle racing, left an indelible mark on the sport with his remarkable achievements. From his early days alongside John Whiting at BMW in the 1970 500 Sidecar TT to his unforgettable partnership with Whiting again on the Rumble BSA in the 1970 750 Sidecar TT, Kewley's talent and determination were evident. But it wasn't just these iconic races that defined Kewley's career. In the 1967 Southern 100, he teamed up with an unknown partner on another Rumble BSA, showcasing his versatility and skill. And in the same event two years later, he rode a Triumph sidecar alongside yet another mystery teammate. Kewley's prowess extended beyond national events as well. In the prestigious Senior Manx Grand Prix of 1966, he piloted a Norton to victory, cementing himself as one of the finest racers of his time. His success continued into international competitions when he joined forces with J A Fox on a Triumph for the thrilling Southern 100 race of 1969. What makes Kewley's story even more extraordinary is that throughout all these triumphs and accolades, his father remained oblivious to his son's racing endeavors. It was only after becoming the first Manx rider to earn world championship points that Bob finally revealed this secret passion to his unsuspecting father. Behind every great racer lies meticulous preparation and adherence to safety standards; thus scrutineering became an integral part of Kewley's routine before each race. This attention to detail ensured not only optimal performance but also minimized risks during high-speed battles against formidable opponents. The bond between Bob Kewley and D Tucker was unbreakable as they tackled challenges together on their trusty Rumble BSA sidecar in both the exhilarating Sidecar TT races of '68 and '68'750.
