The Bourbon Dynasty, a tale of power and tragedy, is beautifully depicted in a collection of historic artworks. In "The Entry of Louis XIV and Maria Theresa into Arras, " we witness the grandeur of their reign as they triumphantly enter the city. The painting captures the opulence and majesty that defined this iconic era. Moving forward to another pivotal moment in history, "Louis XVI Taking Leave of his Wife and Family" showcases the heart-wrenching farewell between Louis XVI and his loved ones. This colored engraving evokes deep emotions, reminding us of the turbulent times that led to their ultimate demise. In contrast, "Portrait of Marie Therese Charlotte of France and Delfino Louis Joseph Xavier" portrays a tender scene filled with innocence. Painted on canvas, it immortalizes two young royals whose lives would be forever shaped by their royal lineage. A significant figure during this dynasty was Colbert, as seen in "Colbert Presenting the Members of the Royal Academy of Sciences to Louis XIV.
