"Revving Engines and Thrilling Trials: The Brighton to Beer Trail of 1930" Step back in time to the exhilarating Brighton-Beer Trial of 1930, where daring drivers and their magnificent machines took on the challenging terrain of Devon. Amongst them was Salmson of LJ Higgs, showcasing their prowess on Pepperden Hill, leaving spectators in awe. The MG M type of DC Collins also left its mark on Simms Hill in Ilsington, as it fearlessly conquered the rugged landscape during this iconic event organized by the Brighton and Hove Motor Club (B&HMC). CF Dobson's MG M type joined the ranks too, demonstrating its power and agility throughout the competition. Riley of CJS Montague-Johnson proved their mettle on Simms Hill alongside EA Tebbs with his impressive MG M type. Even motorcycles with sidecars were not left behind; they roared through each obstacle along with WT Taylor's motorcycle that caught everyone's eye. HD Jongs' motorcycle and sidecar combo showcased both style and skill as they maneuvered through every twist and turn. And let us not forget about HP Powell's Amilcar, which effortlessly tackled Simms Hill like a true champion. As if that wasn't enough excitement for one year, Countess Wear Hotel hosted the grand finale of this thrilling motor adventure. Fast forward four years later to 1934 when Fingle Bridge Hill witnessed yet another heart-pounding moment during B&HMC Brighton-Beer Trial.
