The British Saloon Car Championship has seen some legendary drivers and iconic cars over the years. One such driver is CJMF 080a John Fitzpatrick, who made a name for himself with his incredible skills behind the wheel. Another notable participant was Broadspeed, a team that brought their RS1600 to the championship, leaving spectators in awe of its power and speed. CM33 3401 Tom Sharp also left his mark on the championship with his Ford Falcon. The roar of its engine could be heard from miles away as it zoomed past competitors on the track. In CM11 1987, Tom Sharp returned with another Ford Falcon, proving that he was a force to be reckoned with. Julian Crossley showcased his talent in CM25 5581 driving a Jowett Javelin. This unique car turned heads wherever it went, thanks to its sleek design and impressive performance. Mike Lamplough took on the challenge in CM28 5082 behind the wheel of an MG Magnette ZA named Bumble – a true symbol of British engineering excellence. Andrew Willmott chose an Austin A50 Cambridge Saloon (CM25 7331) for his journey through this thrilling championship. Its classic charm combined with Andrew's skillful driving made for an unforgettable sight on every lap. Fred Shepherd and Bill Shepherd joined forces in CM28 5078 with their powerful Ford Mustang. This American muscle car dominated the competition, leaving everyone else trailing behind in their dust. Jonathan Smare opted for a Hillman Minx (CM25 5567), showcasing that even smaller cars can pack quite a punch when driven by someone as talented as him. Drew Pritchard had not one but two entries into this prestigious event – both Volkswagen Beetles (CM25 5580 & CM25 7338). These quirky yet nimble vehicles proved that they were more than capable of holding their own against the competition.
