In 1890, The Kings Own Scottish Borderers bid farewell to this iconic landmark as they embarked on their journey to India. Little did they know that their departure would become a part of its rich tapestry. Dating back to 1849-51, the Mosquee et Tombeau des Ayoubites stands tall within the walls of the citadel.
