The cicinnurus, also known as the magnificent bird of paradise, is a stunning creature found in the lower montane highlands. Its vibrant colors and intricate courtship displays make it a sight to behold. One species of the red bird-of-paradise, scientifically known as Paradisaea rubra. With its fiery red plumage, this bird stands out among its counterparts. Another species is the Wilson's bird-of-paradise, or Cicinnurus respublica. Found in Waigeo and Batanta Islands in Western Papua, Indonesia, this bird showcases an array of captivating behaviors during courtship rituals. In the Arfak Mountains of West Papua lies another variant called the magnificent bird of paradise (Cicinnurus magnificus). The male leans back and presents his breast shield and raised cape to two females during their courtship display. The king bird-of-paradise (Cicinnurus regius) is yet another remarkable member of this family. Its regal appearance and majestic presence are truly awe-inspiring.
