In 1955, a miner at a fairground in Conisbrough, near Doncaster, South Yorkshire, couldn't resist testing his aim. The black and white photo captures the excitement in the air. At another bank holiday fair on Blackheath Common in London, a colorful coconut shy beckons passersby. Its vibrant presence invites everyone to try their luck and win a prize. A lively call of "Walk up. Walk up. " fills the air as eager participants line up to take their shot.
