Punchinello finds himself unexpectedly carried off by an eagle in a captivating chalk drawing infused with pen & ink washes on paper. Such unexpected twists are characteristic of this theatrical genre known for its improvisation and unpredictable plotlines. Arlequin takes center stage in a stunning oil-on-canvas artwork from 1925. His colorful costume reflects his mischievous nature as he engages audiences through acrobatics and witty banter - embodying all that is enchanting about commedia dell'arte.
