In 1910, an advertisement showcases a magnificent wedding cake that undoubtedly left guests in awe. Its intricate design and exquisite details speak volumes about the opulence of the time. Fast forward to Lincolnshire in an unspecified year, where the Salvation Army is seen serving school meals. This heartwarming image reminds us of the importance of nourishing both body and soul, even within educational settings. The 1980s bring us to Croydon, where NUPE and GMBATU launch a campaign for improved school meals. A powerful display of unity and advocacy for better nutrition among students. Traveling across continents, we find ourselves at Hohenzollern Castle in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany on October 3rd, 1867. The State Room hosts an extravagant dinner fit for royalty – an occasion that surely left attendees feeling regal amidst such grandeur. Delving further into history takes us to Rhodes, Greece during the 15th century. Sultan Cem or Jem Sultan shares a meal with Pierre d'Aubusson as they discuss matters of great significance against this historical backdrop. Returning once again to Cornwall in either 1978 or possibly 1977 brings us face-to-face with another Old Cornwall Society dinner held in Newquay.
