Eddie Roberts: A Legend on Two Wheels With a career spanning over a decade, Eddie Roberts cemented his name in the annals of motorcycle racing history. Known for his fearless riding style and unmatched determination, he left an indelible mark on various prestigious races. In 1973, alongside Doug Lunn and Phil Haslam, Eddie Roberts showcased his talent at the Junior Manx Grand Prix. Riding Yamaha bikes with sheer precision, they captivated audiences with their skillful maneuvers. The following years saw Eddie's rise to fame as he conquered multiple TT races. In 1975, astride the Dugdale Maxton Yamaha, he triumphed in the Classic TT event. This victory solidified his place among racing greats. Eddie's partnership with Ducati proved fruitful in subsequent years. In both 1980 and 1981 Formula Two TT races, he dominated the track aboard his Ducati machine. His exceptional control and speed made him a force to be reckoned with. Not one to rest on past glories, Eddie continued to push boundaries throughout his career. The 1987 Formula Two TT witnessed another remarkable performance from him on a Ducati bike—showcasing why he was considered one of the best riders of his time. His versatility shone through as well when he switched manufacturers. In 1988 Production A TT race partnered with Brian Raynor; they formed an unstoppable duo on their Yamaha bikes—a testament to Eddie's adaptability and skill. The Junior TT events were also witness to some of Eddie's finest moments. From Jawa in 1978 to Kimoco in 1989, each year brought new challenges that only fueled his ambition further. In addition to dominating various classes within the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (TT), Eddie ventured into other esteemed competitions such as Ultra Lightweight and Formula One categories—always leaving spectators awestruck by his prowess on the track. Eddie Roberts will forever be remembered as a true racing legend.
