Ellen Terry: A Legendary Actress of the Victorian Era Step back in time to 1864 when Ellen Terry, one of the most celebrated actresses of her generation, was born. Her talent and beauty captivated audiences for decades until her passing in 1942. Renowned painter George Frederick Watts immortalized her on canvas, forever capturing her essence. In an enchanting engraving titled "Scene from the New Play of 'Ravenswood' at the Lyceum, " we see Ellen Terry's mesmerizing performance unfold before our eyes. Another captivating moment is depicted in a striking engraving called "'Becket' at Windsor Castle. " Here, within Canterbury Cathedral, we catch a glimpse of the royal party as seen from the stage.
