Emptiness whispers through the dark stairs at night, as if secrets are hidden within the shadows of Montmartre in Paris, Ile-de-France, France. The once vibrant steps now stand silent and desolate, echoing a tale of forgotten footsteps. An empty tennis court stands alone amidst the towering buildings of Choi Hung Estate, one of Hong Kong's oldest public housing estates in Wong Tai. The absence of laughter and competition leaves behind an eerie stillness that hangs heavy in the air. Plane trees stretch their barren branches along a tree-lined highway in Aude Department. Their skeletal forms seem to yearn for life as they sway with each passing breeze, creating a hauntingly beautiful scene that mirrors the emptiness within. A steep street lined with old houses leads us to Beynac-et-Cazenac in Dordogne Department, Aquitaine. Time has left its mark on these weathered structures, leaving them abandoned and void of human presence. Only echoes remain from days long gone by. Rue Fernand Dol in Aix-en-Provence tells tales of forgotten stories through its crumbling facades and neglected windows. These old buildings bear witness to moments lost in time, their emptiness serving as a poignant reminder of what once was. In Still Life with Tulips and Iona from the 1920s (oil on panel), emptiness takes form on canvas. The absence of bustling activity creates an atmosphere where silence becomes art itself - a moment frozen forever. Calle Crisologo awakens at dawn in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Region Philippines; yet it remains untouched by human presence. Its cobbled streets lay bare under the soft morning light while history lingers silently between ancient walls. A cat finds solace under a bench outside a house in Roussillon's Vaucluse region; its slumber mirroring the quietude that envelops the surroundings.
