Filippo Brunelleschi, a renowned Italian architect and engineer, left an indelible mark on the city of Florence with his remarkable works. One of his most notable achievements was the plan and cut of the dome of the Cathedral of Florence in the 16th century. This drawing showcases his intricate design and meticulous attention to detail. From atop the cathedral's magnificent Duomo Santa Maria del Fiore, another masterpiece by Brunelleschi comes into view - Giotto Tower. Captured in a photograph from around 1905, this breathtaking vista reveals the grandeur of both structures against the backdrop of Florence's enchanting skyline. In addition to his architectural prowess, Brunelleschi also dabbled in sculpture. The polychrome wood sculpture known as "Crucifix" is a testament to his artistic versatility. Moving beyond sculptures, we encounter high reliefs decorating San Jacopo's altar base - depicting prophets Jeremiah and Isaiah.
