These pistols played a vital role in the fur trade, where they were used by traders to protect themselves and secure valuable goods. Not limited to handguns, flintlocks also found their place in muskets like the Militia or Marine Pattern. 78 caliber flintlock musket from 1759. The versatility of flintlocks extends beyond traditional pistols and muskets. For instance, there are double-barreled Flintlock Shotguns with exchangeable percussion locks and barrels – a testament to innovation within this technology. A pair of British-made Flintlock Pistols crafted around 1765 by Henry Hadley demonstrates exquisite craftsmanship prevalent during that period.
