George Curzon, a prominent English politician and statesman, left an indelible mark on the history of India during his tenure as Viceroy. Known for his grandeur and influence, Lord Curzon's arrival in Bombay in 1898 was met with great anticipation. The lithograph captures the majestic scene at Apollo Bunder as he disembarks from his ship alongside Lady Curzon. Lord and Lady Curzon's journey continued to Calcutta, where they were greeted by a procession nearing Government House. During his time in India, Lord Curzon oversaw significant projects such as the construction of Victoria Memorial in Calcutta. Back in England, Lord Curzon's achievements were celebrated when he was installed as Chancellor of Oxford University in 1907.
