On July 12, 1808, his web tightened further, leaving those entangled gasping for breath. But this enigma's journey began long before that fateful day. An early lesson of marching imprinted on him on December 24, 1794. The echoes of discipline resonated within him as he honed his skills to perfection. Intriguingly enough, even spies were not immune to his cunning ways. In Greenwich during 1798, they fell prey to his calculated traps—a testament to his mastery over deception and espionage. Yet beneath the facade of power lay a man with emotions running deep. Swearing at Highgate in 1796 depicted an unexpected vulnerability within George Moutard—an insight into the complexities hidden behind his steely exterior.
