Georges Bizet, a renowned French composer of the 19th century, left an indelible mark on the world of music with his timeless creations. In black and white photographs, we catch a glimpse of this musical genius, capturing his essence and passion for his craft. One captivating lithograph showcases Escamillo, a character from one of Bizet's most famous works. The vibrant colors bring to life the flamboyant nature of this opera figure. Another chromolithograph portrays Georges Bizet himself, giving us a rare insight into the man behind the music. His intense gaze reveals both determination and vulnerability as he pours his heart into each composition. Carmen, arguably Bizet's magnum opus, is beautifully depicted in another chromolithograph. This iconic opera tells a tale of love and tragedy that has captivated audiences for generations. Georgette Leblanc takes center stage in a colored photograph as she embodies Carmen herself in 1899. With hand on hip and eyes filled with defiance, she brings forth the spirit of this complex character who defies societal norms. In yet another lithograph bursting with color, we witness Carmen's audacious act as she snatches away a rosette from her admirer. It captures her rebellious nature perfectly - unapologetically breaking free from expectations placed upon her. A thrilling moment unfolds before our eyes through vivid hues when Carmen effortlessly leaps over Don Jose and dashes off into freedom. This colorful litho encapsulates the exhilarating energy that permeates throughout Bizet's masterpiece. The death scene from Carmen is brought to life once again through striking colors in yet another lithograph. As tragedy befalls these characters' lives entangled by love and jealousy, their emotions are palpable even within this artistic representation. Don Jose himself is portrayed in full color lithography - torn between duty and desire as he navigates tumultuous relationships amidst conflicting emotions.
